Chemical Absorbent Rolls

Chemical Absorbent Rolls

Chemical spills in industrial environments demand more than a standard absorbent response. They demand speed, capacity, coverage, and a product that can be deployed quickly across the exact footprint of the incident — whether that’s a broad open floor area, a narrow machinery base, a containment channel, or a water surface. Chemical Absorbent Rolls are engineered to deliver all of this, in a perforated roll format that puts maximum absorption capacity precisely where it is needed, in exactly the quantity required.

Our Chemical Absorbent Roll range offers two heavy-weight, high-capacity options — the SL-CR1 wide-format single roll for broad surface coverage, and the SL-CR2 precision-width twin pack for targeted deployment in confined and specific-geometry applications. Both deliver the same exceptional 192-litre total absorption capacity. Both are constructed from 100% polypropylene with a sonic bonded core and spunbond top layer for maximum absorption speed and retention. Both are perforated for waste-reducing, cost-effective proactive and reactive deployment. And both are yellow — the recognised colour standard for chemical-specific absorbents — keeping your spill response inventory clearly organised and correctly identified in emergency situations.

Choose Your Width

Single Roll per Bag

SL-CR1 — Wide Format | 76cm × 46m | Single Roll per Bag

The SL-CR1 is the large-scale chemical spill response roll — built for broad coverage, maximum capacity deployment, and situations where the spill footprint demands width as much as absorption volume. At 76cm wide and 46 metres long, a single strip covers wide machinery bases, broad floor areas, and large containment zones without the need for overlapping multiple narrower rolls. One roll, one bag, 192 litres of heavy-weight chemical absorption ready to deploy at the scale the incident demands.

Best for: Wide floor areas, large machinery bases, broad containment bays, large-scale spill events, open industrial environments.

SL-CR2 — Precision Width | 40cm × 46m | Twin Pack (2 Rolls per Bag)

The SL-CR2 delivers the same 192-litre heavy-weight absorption performance as the SL-CR1 in a precision 40cm width designed for targeted, accurate deployment in narrower applications. Where the wider roll overhangs and wastes material, the SL-CR2 fits cleanly — along individual machinery bases, inside containment channels, beneath conveyor systems, around specific pipework runs, and across corridor-width spill zones. Supplied as two rolls per bag for outstanding inventory value and uninterrupted availability in high-frequency use environments.

Best for: Narrow drip trays, machinery bases, containment channels, pipework maintenance, confined spill zones, high-frequency daily use facilities.

What Both Models Share

Every Chemical Absorbent Roll in this range is engineered to the same heavy-weight performance standard. Both the SL-CR1 and SL-CR2 are constructed from 100% pure polypropylene — chemically inert, non-reactive with absorbed substances, and structurally stable under full saturation load. The sonic bonded core locks polypropylene absorbent fibres into a dense, consistent matrix that maximises liquid retention and prevents flock migration during use and recovery. The spunbond top layer provides a fast-wicking contact surface that draws chemical liquids into the core immediately on contact — critical when containment speed determines the spread of the incident.

Both rolls are perforated throughout their full length for clean, precise tear-off at any required section length — deploy exactly what the spill or maintenance task demands, preserve the remainder for the next application. Both are hydrophobic, selectively absorbing chemical liquids while repelling water — making them equally effective on ground surfaces and the surface of water. And both are yellow throughout, providing immediate identification as chemical-specific absorbents within your facility’s broader spill response inventory.

Which Size Is Right for You?

Choose the SL-CR1 if your facility requires broad surface coverage — wide machinery bases, large floor areas, open containment bays, or major spill events where single-strip deployment across the full spill width is the fastest and most efficient response. The 76cm width eliminates the time and material cost of overlapping multiple narrower rolls across wide areas.

Choose the SL-CR2 if your applications are more targeted — narrow drip trays, individual machinery components, pipework runs, containment channels, or any spill zone where a 76cm roll would overhang and waste material. The twin pack format adds practical inventory advantage for high-frequency use environments, ensuring a replacement roll is always immediately available without additional ordering.

For facilities managing both large-scale emergency spill response and day-to-day proactive maintenance coverage, stocking both models provides a complete, graduated chemical roll response capability across every application width and spill scale.

Chemical Compatibility

Both models absorb the full spectrum of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial chemical liquids, including hydrocarbons and derivative products, cutting oils, hydraulic fluids, coolants, mineral oils, solvents, water, and the complete range of industrial chemical substances encountered across manufacturing, processing, chemical storage, and laboratory environments.

Applications

Chemical Absorbent Rolls from this range are used across heavy industrial manufacturing, chemical processing and storage plants, oil and gas facilities, automotive and engineering workshops, pharmaceutical production environments, research laboratories, and any facility that requires fast, reliable, high-capacity chemical spill containment and proactive spill prevention across both ground surfaces and water surfaces.

Additional Information

  • Material: 100% Pure Polypropylene — sonic bonded core with spunbond top layer
  • Color: Yellow — chemical absorbent identification standard
  • Transport: No hazardous goods classification required — inert properties on both models
  • Storage: Store in a dry, cool place away from moisture, heat sources, and direct sunlight. Keep in original sealed packaging until use.
  • Disposal: Saturated roll sections must be disposed of in compliance with the regulations governing the absorbed chemical substance. Do not dispose of chemically saturated absorbents in general waste streams. Follow site-specific hazardous waste procedures and all applicable local environmental regulations.
  • Safety: Always refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of the absorbed substance when handling saturated roll sections.
