The SL-CC1 Chemical Absorbent Pillow is a purpose-engineered spill response solution designed to absorb a wide spectrum of hazardous and non-hazardous chemical liquids quickly and safely. Constructed with a spunbond outer layer for rapid wicking and a treated hydrophilic absorbent core, each yellow pillow delivers 4.5 litres of chemical absorption capacity in a flexible, easy-to-handle 25 × 40 cm cushion format. Ideal for drip trays, machinery maintenance, difficult-to-access spill locations, and pooled liquid absorption — the SL-CC1 is the reliable, versatile chemical containment pillow for industrial facilities, laboratories, and chemical storage environments.

The SL-CC1 is formulated to absorb an exceptionally broad range of liquid chemicals — including acids, alkaline solutions, acetate, chlorinated solvents, benzene, toluene, water, oil, and many other industrial liquids. This wide chemical compatibility makes it the go-to absorbent pillow for mixed chemical environments where a single versatile product must perform across multiple spill types without the risk of adverse chemical reaction.
The flexible cushion format of the SL-CC1 makes it uniquely suited for absorbing spills and leaks in locations that flat pads and rolls cannot effectively reach — beneath machinery, inside containment bays, around pipework fittings, in corners and recesses, and anywhere that pooled liquid has collected in a confined or irregular space. Simply place, press into position, and allow the spunbond outer layer to begin wicking immediately.
The spunbond polypropylene outer layer is engineered for maximum wicking speed — drawing liquid rapidly into the treated absorbent core the moment the pillow makes contact with a spill. Fast initial absorption is critical in chemical spill response, where rapid containment prevents liquid from spreading to drains, adjacent equipment, and personnel pathways.
Line drip trays beneath chemical storage vessels, place under valves during maintenance operations, position around pipework joints during inspection and repair work, or incorporate into your facility’s standing spill response plan as a standard first-response resource. The SL-CC1’s cushion format conforms to irregular surfaces and contained spaces where flat absorbents lose effectiveness.
The stitched outer seam construction securely contains the absorbent core throughout the absorption process — preventing flock migration, maintaining pillow integrity under saturation, and avoiding any chemical interaction between the absorbent fill and the absorbed liquid. Safe to handle during deployment and recovery, even in chemically aggressive environments.
The SL-CC1’s distinctive yellow color provides immediate visual identification as a chemical-specific absorbent — clearly distinguishing it from universal grey or oil-only white absorbents in your spill response inventory. Correct absorbent selection in a chemical spill emergency is a safety-critical decision, and color coding supports fast, accurate identification under pressure.
For minor leaks, drips, and small-quantity spills where deploying larger absorbent rolls or booms would be impractical and wasteful, the SL-CC1 pillow provides precisely targeted absorption with minimal product consumption. Cost-effective, efficient spill response that matches the absorbent resource to the actual spill volume.
No specific transport regulations apply. The SL-CC1 has inert properties and requires no hazardous goods classification for shipping or internal facility logistics.
No specific risk associated with the uncontaminated product. Always refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of the absorbed chemical substance for specific handling, PPE, and emergency response requirements when working with saturated pillows.
Store in a dry, cool place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep in original sealed packaging until use to maintain absorbency performance and product integrity.
Saturated pillows must be disposed of in full compliance with the regulations governing the destruction of the absorbed liquid. Do not dispose of chemically saturated pillows in general waste streams. Follow site-specific hazardous waste disposal procedures and local environmental regulations.
We use SL-CC1 pillows under our chemical dosing pumps and around valve connections during maintenance. The absorption speed is excellent and the stitched construction means they stay intact even when fully saturated. Yellow color makes them easy to identify in our spill response kit. Very satisfied.
Good quality chemical absorbent pillows with fast absorption and solid construction. The yellow color coding is a useful safety feature for mixed absorbent inventories. Would give five stars if the pack size were available in larger quantities for high-volume industrial users, but overall an excellent spill response product.
